After Your Bowen Treatment
In the days following a Bowen Treatment, the body continues to make the changes necessary to release tension and settle into new, healthier patterns. Most clients see significant change within two sessions, even with chronic long term issues like back pain.

It is essential that you drink at least five large glasses of water a day for the three days following your treatment, and preferably throughout the course of treatment.
Movement and gentle stretching of the muscles will aid the recovery and help the brain to review the body's changes and adjust proprioception (sense of the body in space). Move your position every 30 mins by getting up and walking across the room.
Some clients experience minor but distinct reactions to the treatment. These can include aches and pains, emotional releases, headaches and hot and cold flushes. These normally clear within 48 hours and are all signs that the body is reacting and working with the treatment.
You can continue with gentle exercise while having Bowen treatments unless otherwise advised.
Heat and cold
The use of ice packs and or heat pads is not advised while receiving a course of Bowen treatments.
Soaking for 20 mins in a warm bath with 500gms of Epsom salts is beneficial for relieving aches and pains. NB. It is advisable not to have the water too hot.
It is advisable not to receive other physical therapies for seven days before and after a course of Bowen, so as not to unduly overload the body with differing messages at the same time.
